************************************************************************************************ I won the lottery!!! Not the big one, not the one where you won a million dollars or more, a smaller one....
But it was more money than I had ever had, even after taxes, I had over $200,000 i cash n my bank account! Now being the anal-retentive personality that I am, I didn't do anything rash like quit my job, or go on a big spending spree. I knew $200,000 only seemed like a lot of money, it could disappear in a flash if I wasn't careful.
So the only change I made in my life was to move out of the somewhat shabby 3-flat I had been living in, and move into a nce new high-rise on the lakefront.
I had always wanted to live in a "secuity" building with a door man and a secuityguard, but the rent was a bit out of my reach since even just the studio apartments began at $700 a month, and my monthly salary was only $1000 a month.
Now with my winnings, I was able to afford the kind of apartment I wanted, a nice one bedroom. I sort of surprised the building management when I gave them a check for a full years rent in advance , in addition to the security deposit and the first and last month rent they required before I could move in.
"Well," I explained, "This way neither you nor I will have to worry about it!! And this way, I'll have some security, some peace of mind."
I also planned to set up a seperate account, and at least what half of what I had been spending on rent into it so that I would always have enough to pay the rent there, should I go thru my winnings in the next two or three years. I wanted to insure my "secuirty".......
